Deposit & Missed Appointments.

To secure an appointment a £15 deposit will need to be paid. While this deposit is non- refundable, it can be transferred to a different date providing 24 hours’ notice is given.

When making an appointment, please inform us if your dog’s coat is matted, they are unsociable with other dogs, have any behavioural medical or physical concerns, are elderly, aggressive or have experienced difficulties with grooming in the past. This will allow us to adequately prepare and allocate an appropriate time for your dog’s groom. In the case of a no show without any prior notice, we ask for 50% of the grooming cost in advance when you book your next appointment.

Late collection

You will be given a scheduled time for pick up, along with a text or call notification 15 minutes before your dog’s groom is expected to be completed. we kindly request that you please be considerate and prompt in picking up your dog.

Matting

Any matting will need to be removed for your dog’s welfare. Matted hair rest tightly against the skin and the only way to remove it is to use a blade which will clip the coat extremely short, getting between the skin and the matt. Your dog may show signs of skin irritation and sores due to mating. Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems, it pulls and binds causing pain and in severe cases can cut off circulation. The skin underneath can often be inflamed and there is a strong chance your dog’s skin may be irritated after the clipping process. It’s important to note that removing matting does not come without risk, the pooch parlour will not be liable for any incidents that arise during or after the grooming session. Examples are but not limited to, skin irritation, redness, and nicks from the blade. Depending up on the severity of the matting a £5 to £20 charge will be added onto the price of the groom this will be discussed during your consultation.

Fleas

If your dog has fleas, we kindly ask that your grooming appointment is rescheduled to a time when your dog no longer has them. If found on your dog during their groom, there will be an additional £15 charge to cover the costs of disinfecting our premises and equipment.

Accidents

Although accidents are rare, they can occur due to the nature of our work and the equipment we utilize. You give consent for us to seek medical attention for your dog in the event of an emergency.

Refusal/stopping the groom.

We reserve the right to decline grooming services if we have concerns or discomfort. Your dog’s welfare is our foremost priority, and we will always choose to stop the groom should we feel your dog’s welfare is compromised. This decision may be based on factors such as excessive stress, physical limitations, or behaviour which poses a risk to themselves or our staff. Additionally, if your dog is not in optimal health or is pregnant, we may need to reevaluate the grooming process.

Muzzles

When necessary, we may use a muzzle for both safety of the team and your dog.

Photos

The owner agrees for photographs of their dog to be taken and used on the pooch parlour website and other social media pages.
